Ohhhh yeah

Guess who just got a 4.0 on her senior thesis? Moi, bitchezz. Yes indeedy. I break a month-long silence to brag on this blog to my friend(s???) because I am loath to do so to my parents. As much as I hate my mom's tirades when I don't live up to her expectations, I don't exactly look forward to her praise, either. I'm tired, and I just don't want to talk to my parents. It's not that I'm a sulky teenager or hate them - I think I'm over that stage. But I just don't want to go downstairs and face them. I just got back from a hike, and I just got my period - I'm too tired for emotion. So in lieu of singing my praises to the two people who'd most like to hear them, I'll just say - because I'm happy - that I got 4.0s on both my classes this quarter also, bringing my GPA up to a 3.87, and a magna cum laude, which is what my mom expected. I'm happy for myself, although not really surprised, but not eager to celebrate with my mom. Ick. Maybe this is a sign of a bad relationship and maybe we shouldn't be going walking together this summer. After all, she is also very unfit, and has disgusting toenails. One of them even COMES OFF COMPLETELY at times. Ewwwww. I'd like to believe she can go to a doctor and have her feet rendered fit and shipshape for walking, but I don't think the current state of medicine can restore feet to their original condition. Hmm.

There's more. A lot has happened. But I'm so tired. I'll leave it at the obnoxious moment of self-congratulation for the time being and come back later. I'm always seized with things to blog about during the day, all of them more interesting than what actually ends up in this blog. So maybe tomorrow I'll actually write some of them, if I can remember any.
